Susanna Blankley is the coordinator of the Right to Counsel NYC Coalition. Her article, "The Right to Counsel is an Important Victory" is an articulate and accurate description of the right-to-counsel movement. In her article, Ms. Blankley categorizes the right to counsel as a chapter in the movement to build the power of tenants, poor people, and people of color. She notes that a tenant's right to counsel is an incredible tool. This new right is a crucial tool that can and will be used against landlords in Guidelines an effort to finally level the playing field in housing court.
