COVID-19 Closes Courts

Posted by Jennifer Rozen | Mar 17, 2020 | 0 Comments

Dear NYC Tenants:

The unprecedented Coronavirus pandemic has created circumstances that New Yorkers and the country have never before faced. Rozen Law Group is committed to keeping NYC tenants apprised of changes and closures within our legal system that will affect you all.

New York's Office of Court Administration has announced that as of 5pm yesterday 3/16/2020, most courts Statewide will be closed, except for emergency and/or safety related matters such as Criminal Court or emergency illegal lockout applications and HP cases involving serious, hazardous conditions.  As of now, all evictions are suspended and Landlord-Tenant court is closed. All pending cases in L&T court are suspended "until further notice." Despite that, if you receive notice of any proceeding or court date from the court system, please do not ignore it and forward it to us as soon as possible so we can do our best to advocate for you.

Although we are working remotely, Rozen Law Group remains open at full capacity and are here to field your questions and concerns via phone and email. Reach out if you need anything.

New Yorkers have proven repeatedly that we are resilient. We look forward to getting through this together.
